What a Tease!

So the Dogs have been going a little crazy these days, while they are outside.  There is a group of
little Grey things that tease them.  It is actually kinda cute and has become a fun game I think for both the dogs and the
squirrels.
They hide near the Tree and bolt up it when when dogs come within a few feet of them

Then the dogs stand guard waiting for it to come back down or run the Fence Line so they can chase it.  The Squirrel Chatters at them as it run by.  Almost like saying "you can catch me, ha ha ha"

Wrinkles has the most fun playing this game, she will stand guard at the bottom of the tree, barking her head off at it.
It Chatters back with stop all that Barking at me

This makes Geisha, and Grover Mad and then all 3 of them stay guard at the bottom

Yesterday, they stood guard for 15 minutes waiting to catch it.

Our Friend Luke who lives in CT, was lucky and actually caught a little grey friend of his very own.
The Squirrel was not so lucky.  I pray that my gang doesn't catch one because I don't think the outcome would be very good

I wonder if those bushy-tailed rats go to "How to Tease and Pester Dogs" school? We have some that do the same thing!

Good to see the furkids on patrol to keep those squirelly things out of the yard. We like the pics and specially the 2nd one where the gray thing is sitting still looking like a statue - hoping they don't see him - heehee
Tailwags & keep up the good job.

It is very rare for us to see a squirrel around our yard, probably because all the trees are fairly small. But we do see them on our walks and we give the Momster a good pull of the arms as we would love to catch one too.

Great photos.

Squirrels are such scoundrels. Both sneaky AND cheeky.

Oh my gosh, Riley is OBSESSED with trying to catch a squirrel! It wouldn't turn out good for the squirrel...so far out of Riley's less than two years of life we've had a dead bunny, a dead bird, and a dead mouse. I guess all she needs to add to the list is a squirrel. Good thing they're so fast and obviously have taken classes on how to avoid dogs!

We hope you guys (and gals) get lots of fun squirrel time but don't catch one. Maybe all the squirrels will decide this is a fun game and will come over to play!

those sneeky little creatures, I love chasing them to, and I know they just tease me, but keeping them treed that was cool. Continue the fun!

It's a fun game but I too hope the squirrel can run faster than your dogs, as it probably would not end well for them otherwise.

Well, I'm sure he just caught it and immediately let it go! :)

It does look like fun, as long as no one is caught.

Those squirrels know exactly what they are doing. They do the same thing to Lola too. I think one day they are going to be too slow.

Hey we will be right over. Those little guys tease us like that all the time. They like to shake their tails at us and chatter too.. We don't know what we would do with one either if we caught it...

The squirrel usually wins. Kelly can never figure out where the squirrel goes. I'm sure it teases her on purpose.

My pups don't really pay attention to squirrels for some reason. Sometimes the squirrles will hollar at them in the summer time but my boys just go about their business and don't give them the time of day.

Odd for a dog, huh?

Oh we LOVES squirrels - we just made a postie about one of those varmints (that Dad brought home tonight heheh!) - you are sure good at guarding that tree - a doggeh can't let those squirrels run around loose on their territories! Good work!

I love squirrels and I love cats too!!! However, they always run faster than I. I am wondering how I can get them next time.
