This Week there was a ad posted on Craig's List it read:
Missing your Sheltie? (Broad Street, Nashua NH)
This morning on my way to work I saw a small Sheltie dog running in the middle of the road on Broad Street, towards Hollis. She was soaking wet and look terrified! I tried to turn around to follow her. She seemed to have gone into the woods near the Country Barn Hotel or onto Majesty Drive near the Nashua Baptist Church.
So I sent the lady a Picture of the Gracie and she confirmed it was her, that she saw. At first I said to myself REALLY she traveled this far (22 miles from point of escape) but some dogs are known to travel farther away!! So the "Gracie Team" all met up in Nashua NH to search. Beth who owns Wag Tail Farms drove about 50 miles one way to help search and hang posters. Cheryl left work in Natick and must of took a plane because she go there so quickly. Joe was still in his work clothes. Karen and I were in the woods searching thanking God that the hunter didn't shot us!
We I arrived on scene I came across this poster. It was another missing Sheltie named Bailey that was missing since Sunday. It looked nothing like a skinny dog and it didn't have black floppy ears as described by the Craig's list poster. As we started to hang posters we had a few phone calls from people saying that they saw the dog. We met people and showed them the picture of both missing dogs and they confirmed it was Gracie that they were seeing. We were thinking that Gracie Journey as come to and end and she would be home for Thanksgiving.
Greco was nice enough to do the night shift of waiting and watching for the dog to see if we could spot her while we were all under the sheets sleeping for the night.
In the morning My dog Grover and I went out to search between the rain drops for her. We did alot of walking and Grover did alot of smelling around. Karen Patrolled the streets, earlier in the morning, Karen said that she saw something but it went behind someone house she got out of her car, but told me she saw nothing. She did she a Sheltie in a house window but not the sheltie we were looking for. It seems like Sheltie's are everywhere all of a sudden!
Everyone Searched Frantically for Her, and we came up with nothing.
My trail camera took a picture of Bailey's Mom out searching for Bailey along with their other dog.
On Thursday Morning my Dog Search Team Member Anne went out and stood in the Rotary with a sign telling people to go Slow because the dog bolts in front of cars, I asked her if she wanted to borrow a set of drums to play while out there but she sadly refused. Around 10:20 Am I received a phone call that Bailey was found, I asked the lady to see me a photo of her Dog and this is what I received a picture that
LOOKS LIKE THIS
Guess what it looks like the dog we were looking for minus the white stripe running up the nose.
Bailey Family didn't have a picture of Bailey so they grabbed a random Sheltie off of Google Images!
IF THERE IS ONE LESSON TO BE LEARNED HERE IS TO HAVE AN UPDATED PHOTO ON HAND AT ALL TIMES.
I think this would be a great fund raiser for a animal shelter! LOST DOG Photo with height and weight and maybe a paw print for people to have in case their dog every goes missing.
Grover would like to see Gracie Really soon all this searching for her is making him very tired.
WHERE ARE YOU NOW? WE ARE NOT GIVING UP ON YOU!
GRACIE PLEASE COME HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!
Love the "We are Still Looking Team"

I am so thankful there are people like you, thanks for all you do to help the lost ones.
Man, I was hoping the whole time that you had found her! I can't believe Bailey's family didn't have an updated picture of their dog!!! I mean, seriously!
My boss is looking to adopt a Labradoodle or Goldendoodle. She lives in Southeast Virginia here by me. I was wondering if you knew of any rescues or breeders? She has a male Boxer who loves other dogs and they just lost their 3 year old Chocolate Lab unexpectedly earlier in the year. They're looking to adopt after the holidays. I was thinking you might know of someone. Thanks!!

You are amazing!

How frustrating! Poor little Gracie. We hope she is found soon, she is adorable.
Oh no...I hope she can be found and I hope if I ever lose one of my pups (my worst fear) that I have some amazing people like you out there helping me!
I sure hope she can find her way home. Thanks for all that you do to help these lost animals. Lots of love, Hollya and mom
We sooooo hope you are rewarded with the safe return of Grace. It's a shame she doesn't know of all the wonderful people trying to help her!

The updated photo sounds like a great idea.
Wow, that is a lot of work. I know how diligent you are, and I hope she does come out of hiding soon.
I hope you find her really soon. You do such a lot of hard work looking for the lost doggies and it's so wonderful of you.

Good luck, hope you find Gracie very, very soon!
I'm so sorry I haven't commented lately - your posts were no longer showing up in my feed!
Too bad about Gracie - I didn't know her story - I hope she gets home soon.
Hope you all can find the poor girl as soon as possible. You are AMAZING!!!
We will keep our paws crossed! I can't imagine the worry that Gracie's family is going through.
Sam
What pawsome work you do! I know everyone is really thankful for all the work you put into these searches.I hope Gracie turns up really soon.
We were hoping to hear a happy ending, but are so thankful that there are teams of you out looking for her! And great advice about updated photos (not that we have a problem with that, as Mom is a wee-bit camera-happy) - we might suggest that to our local Petco (they do a lot of fund-raising for local charities here) as a great fund-raising opportunity - it benefits everyone! Paws crossed that you find Gracie soon!

Who would ever post a generic picture of a breed for their lost dog? Not good!
Glad the dog is home safe.... prayers for Gracie to return soon!
